Poliou House

Poliou House

George Polioudakis is a man with passion for tradition. His main goal was to keep the history of his family and his village, Asteri, alive. Therefore he started, from an early age, collecting objects of traditional culture and old household equipment of the local culture.

Today he exhibits his amazing collection of objects, photos and equipment in a folklore museum, where visitors can experience how locals used to live in the late 19th century.

At the same place operates a traditional cafe with homemade scented liquers made by the family.

There is also a family taverna for those who seek traditional flavours combined with the world-known Cretan hospitality.

Don’t miss the chance to visit Poliou House and taste the Cretan cuisine at its finest! You will not regret it!

What Our Guests Say

I’ve already stayed 2 times at Villas Lefkothea, each time was a very big pleasure. Manousos and his mother are very nice, helpful and gave very good tips about the region!
